Boundary Public Comment Option

Reported by on 11/18/21

Over the past several months, we have seen a strong desire from our community to participate in public comment, regarding boundary changes, at the board of education meetings. We also saw a significant number of people express an interest in participating in public comment during the boundary forums. While we wanted to hear from our community during these sessions, our main goal was to provide information to educate the community on the various aspects of boundary adjustments facing our district. We recognize that in providing these informational sessions, there were some who felt we did not provide adequate time to hear public comments from all those who had hoped to participate.

Due to this high level of interest shown by our community in the boundary process, we're inviting District 204 residents to share their opinions with the board, administration, and at-large community via this online public comment form. Comments will be collected and made public via a link on the IPSD boundary webpage. The standard information for public comment sign up will be collected but only name and comment will be shared.

Submission of public comments will remain open through the December 8, 2021 boundary committee meeting. Boundary related public comments will be updated weekly on Mondays with a timestamp of each submission. One comment per person is allowed. Community members will have an opportunity to submit additional comments between the December 8, 2021 boundary committee meeting and the December 20, 2021 board workshop and again before the January 10, 2022 board of education meeting. As a reminder, boundary public comments will be made available to all age groups and, as such, we ask that you consider the audience members and keep comments age appropriate.
